NO INJURIES IN DECATUR ROLLOVER WRECK – No injuries were reported in a major two-vehicle rollover wreck Monday afternoon on U.S. 81/287 north of Decatur, near Catfish O’Harlies. According to Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. Ricky Hunter, preliminary investigation results indicate a 2017 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Zack Mangum, 30, of St. Matthews, South Carolina, was northbound at a high rate of speed. Magnum’s vehicle struck the rear of a 2002 Ford Ranger driven by Michael Papadopolous, 20, of Homestead, Fla. The collision caused the Ford to enter a side skid and roll onto the east shoulder of the roadway. All parties were treated by medics for minor injuries and released at the scene. Mangum was cited for failure to control speed.

NISD NAMES CHISHOLM TRAIL PRINCIPAL – At their school board meeting Monday, Northwest ISD trustees named Anthony Fontana, currently the principal of Lewisville High School’s Harmon campus for freshmen and sophomores, as the new principal at Chisholm Trail Middle School in Rhome.

PARADISE BEGINS WATER PROJECT – Paradise has started construction on a $1.3 million, two-phase water project that will expand its service area throughout the city, along with improving water quality. The project’s first phase is to extend water lines on the north and south city limits. The water lines will serve approximately 40 additional households, city secretary Teresa Moody said. The second part includes modifications to the city’s water tower. The city will cover around $600,000 of the project, Moody said, with the rest being paid for by state entities. TGCA ALL-STATE SELECTIONS – The Decatur Lady Eagles basketball team had three players recently named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s Class 4A All-State Team. Players selected included Kylee Fitzgerald, Katie Hale and Grace Lowery. The Bridgeport Sissies came away with two players selected for the Class 4A team – Ashley Ingram and Emily Vidal. Rachae’ Fowler was the lone Alvord Lady Bulldog player selected for the Class 2A team.

GROUP HONORING VETERANS – The Wise County Veterans Group will place flags on grave sites of those veterans interred at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur on Friday. The flags will remain in place until Wednesday, May 27. The organization will not present a Memorial Day program at the Veterans Park in Decatur. However, the park will be open to the public from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. to pay their respects. Members will be present to answer questions and assist in locating bricks of friends and loved ones. The park will be decorated with service flags and will also include individual flags at each monument. Patriotic music will also be provided. Attendees are asked to maintain social distancing.

SLIGHT CHANCE OF STORMS TONIGHT – It will be mostly cloudy today with a high near 82. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible after 10 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

FUNERAL for Pat Madland, 56, of Bridgeport is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hawkins Chapel in Bridgeport. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

SERVICE for Jerry Hood, 44, of Chico is pending at Hawkins-Bridgeport.

SERVICE for Brandina Michelle Vines, 42, of Justin is pending at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

SERVICE for Lisa Church, 52, of Grand Prairie is 2 p.m. Friday at Hudson & Torres with burial at Thomas Cemetery in Bridgeport. Family visitation is 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

MEMORIAL service for Mary Maxwell, 89, of Bridgeport is 5 p.m. Friday at Hudson & Torres.
