DISD TO RECONSIDER AD FULLER’S CONTRACTDecatur ISD Athletic Director Mike Fuller’s employment with the school district will be the subject of possible action at a special school board meeting Friday. Yesterday, the school district posted an agenda for a special meeting 9 a.m. Friday which includes only one action item: to “consider and take possible action regarding employment of Athletic Director Mike Fuller.” The possible action will follow a closed session on the matter. A public forum is also listed on the agenda to accept public comments. The meeting will take place three days before the regularly-scheduled school board meeting on Monday night. Fuller’s contract was renewed by a unanimous vote of the school board on March 22. While neither the district nor school board President Thomas Houchin publicly commented on why the contract is being reconsidered at this time, Fuller’s attorney sent the Messenger a letter saying that the “move against Mike Fuller has been initiated by the president of the school board, and not the superintendent.” Read more in the midweek Wise County Messenger on newsstands today.
