Update for Tuesday, November 22, 2022

PARADISE NAMES SUPERINTENDENT FINALIST — Paradise ISD named Will Brewer the lone finalist for superintendent Monday night. Brewer is currently superintendent at Stamford ISD, a 2A school district primarily in Jones County. “It was a deep pool of sitting superintendents and Will came to the top pretty quickly,” said Paradise ISD interim Supt. Rod Townsend after the school board’s unanimous decision. “I think his stability along with his tenure at different size districts helped him stand out. He’s just a great fit for the community and he’s been successful everywhere he’s been. He’s everything you’d want in a candidate.” Brewer, who previously worked at Wylie ISD, is expected to start in his new role in January. Paradise ISD will meet Dec. 19 to approve the new superintendent’s contract. The state mandates a 21-day waiting period between naming a finalist and when a contract can be approved. The position opened after former Superintendent Paul Uttley accepted a position at Stratford ISD.
