WINTER STORM WATCH ISSUED — Enjoy the mild temperatures today, because big changes are on the way. An arctic cold front will bring freezing temperatures Wednesday evening, and rain is expected to turn into a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow Wednesday night into Thursday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for all of North Texas, including Wise County, from Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon. Ice accumulations of one-tenth to one-third of an inch are possible. Total snow and/or sleet accumulations up to 3 inches are possible, according to the NWS.

MONDAY BASKETBALL RESULTS — Caiden Shetter knocked down six 3-pointers and finished with 18 points Monday to lead VCA (18-5, 8-2) to a 54-15 win over Heritage Christian Academy. In the girls game, VCA routed Heritage Christian Academy 69-8.
BOYS HOOPS — Bridgeport (8-19, 2-5) will look to stay alive in the hunt for a playoff spot tonight, as the Bulls welcome Springtown at 7:30 p.m. In 3A, Boyd (15-10, 5-4) travels to Pilot Point, while Paradise (18-11, 7-2) hosts Ponder. Both games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Alvord (7-21, 1-7) will take on Muenster in 13-2A play at 6:30 p.m. at Alvord High School. Slidell is on the road for a 22-A battle against Prairie Valley at 7:30 p.m.
GIRLS HOOPS — Bridgeport (19-11, 4-5) will look to draw even in District 7-4A play in a home matchup against Springtown tonight at 6:15 p.m. Boyd (7-21) is on the road at Pilot Point in 10-3A action at 6 p.m. Paradise (16-13, 7-4) hosts Ponder at 6 p.m. In 13-2A, Alvord (21-10, 8-2) will battle league nemesis Muenster at 7:30 p.m. Slidell battles Prairie Valley in 22-A at 6 p.m. at Prairie Valley High School.
SOCCER MATCHES — The Decatur Eagles (3-5) will search for their fourth win of the season tonight in a home matchup against Mineral Wells at 5:30 p.m. In the nightcap, the Lady Eagles (8-2) take on the Lady Rams at 7:30 p.m. The Bridgeport Bulls (11-2-1) travel to face Argyle at 4 p.m., followed by the Sissies (2-8-1) versus the Lady Eagles at 7:15 p.m.
CHAMBER LUNCHEON — Wise County Chamber of Commerce’s February luncheon is a networking event for business leaders. The luncheon is 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the Decatur Conference Center. The topic is the State of the County: Wise County in 2022. Judge J.D. Clark will be speaking. Tickets are $15 per person or $20, including raffle tickets.
