WCSO OPENS DEATH INVESTIGATION — Two people were found dead and one other injured at a Newark home Wednesday. Wise County Chief Deputy Craig Johnson said deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of County Road 4874 in Newark just after noon for a welfare concern after the office received a call from a person saying they had not been able to make contact with one of the residents for several days. “Deputies arrived on scene and found the residence to be secured. Deputies knocked and announced their presence but did not receive an answer. Deputies made entry into the residence and found two persons deceased. A third person was located injured but alive,” Johnson said in a news release. The injured person was taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries. WCSO investigators responded to the scene, and they are being assisted by the Texas Rangers. “At this time we do not believe there is a continuing threat to the community,” Johnson said in the news release.
