PARADISE MAIN STREET FESTIVAL — The Paradise Main Street Festival is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature a car and tractor show, quilt show, arts, crafts and retail booths, silent auction and raffle. COUNCIL SEEKS INPUT — Decatur City Council continues to study a list of capital projects for a future bond issue. Items on the list include an elevated water storage tank on Thompson Street, an engineering study and design for wastewater plant expansion, improvement to Walmart sewer line stretching behind properties along Farm Road 51 South, an upgrade to the Gage lift station, Sunset tank paint project, improvements to development services office, new police department, Harmon Park playground equipment, Harmon Park splash pad, new skate park at Harmon Park and the purchase of 7.89 acres under parks. City Manager Brett Shannon said the bond counsel will give a presentation via Zoom at Monday’s city council meeting to explain financing options for all or a portion of these projects. Council member Jake Hayes said in the meantime, he would like citizen input on what they would like to see and would be willing to support. WEEK 5 FOOTBALL — The Decatur Eagles will welcome Glen Rose tonight at 7. The Bridgeport Bulls will host homecoming against Roosevelt at 7:30 p.m. in 3A, the Boyd Yellowjackets will host the Battle of 114 rivalry against Paradise at 7:30 p.m. The Chico Dragons will take on Callisburg at 7:30 p.m. at Dragon Stadium. The Victory Christian Academy Patriots will host Granbury Cornerstone Christian at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the 5A Northwest Texans will travel to Arlington Heights at 11 a.m.

VOLLEYBALL MATCHES — The Decatur Lady Eagles are on the road tonight for a District 7-4A match against Lake Worth at 4. The Bridgeport Sissies will host a league match against Argyle at 4:30 p.m. In 3A, the Boyd Lady Jackets will travel to Valley View, while the Paradise Lady Panthers host Whitesboro. Both matches are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. the Alvord Lady Bulldogs. The Northwest Lady Texas will take on Denton at 6:30 p.m. at Denton High School. On Saturday, the 2A Alvord Lady Bulldogs will travel to face Perrin-Whitt at 10 a.m.

TASTE BRIDGEPORT — Taste Bridgeport, the annual celebration of area food and drinks will return to Halsell Street this weekend. The event starts at 4 p.m. Saturday and stretches well into the night with live music and 21 food and drink stops, all set within Bridgeport’s revamped shopping scene. General admission tickets are currently selling online for $35, or $60 for two at wcmess.com/tastebport. Prices will increase when they’re sold at the door.

CEMETERY ASSOCIATION MEETING — The annual meeting of the Wilson Prairie Cemetery Association is 4 p.m. Sunday.

UNITED WAY GOLF TOURNAMENT — The United Way of Wise County will hold its annual golf tournament today at the RB Golf Club. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the shotgun start is 10 a.m. The cost is $500 per 4-person team. CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT — Wise Hope will hold a charity golf tournament at RB Golf Club and Resort Saturday. Cost is $300 per three-person team with $10 unlimited mulligans available. HISTORICAL MARKER DEDICATION — The Bridgeport Historical Society will hold a dedication ceremony for a historical marker at the site of the old high school, 1407 Carpenter St., next to the new fire hall. The dedication is 10 a.m. Saturday. Anyone who attended school in the building is invited to attend and participate in a group photo.
