FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS – The Decatur Eagles (2-4, 1-0) will host Gainesville (1-3, 0-1) for the annual homecoming game at 7 tonight at Eagle Stadium. The Bridgeport Bulls (1-3) will open District 3-4A Division II play on the road against Graham (3-1) at 7:30 p.m. The Boyd Yellowjackets (5-0, 2-0) continue their trek through 4-3AI with a road trip to face Ponder (3-2, 1-1) at 7:30 p.m. The Paradise Panthers (3-2, 0-2) will host Pilot Point (4-1, 2-0) at 7:30 p.m. The Alvord Bulldogs (2-3, 2-0) will travel to Trenton for a 5-2AI showdown at 7:30 p.m. The Chico Dragons (0-4) begin 7-2AII games tonight by hosting Petrolia for homecoming at 7:30 p.m.

GREENWOOD FALL FEST – The Greenwood Fall Fest is 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in downtown Greenwood. Parade begins at 10. The event will include raffles, craft booths, game booths, food, children’s activities, silent auction and more. The museum will be open, and the Masonic Lodge will serve barbecue sandwiches. Social distancing will be in effect. The Slidell Greyhounds basketball team will also receive their 2020 Class A state championship rings during a ceremony at 2 p.m.

VIRTUAL DAZZLE ME PINK – Wise Health Foundation will host a virtual fashion show and auction. The silent auction will be held Oct. 9-14. The fashion show and live auction will be held 6 p.m. Oct. 14. To register for an account and to view auction items, visit: qtego.net/qlink/dazzleme.

VOLLEYBALL MATCHUPS – All Wise County volleyball games will start at 4:30 p.m. today. The No. 4 Decatur Lady Eagles will look for their 21st win of the season tonight at home against Argyle. Decatur is currently 8-0 in District 7-4A. The Boyd Lady Jackets (20-3, 8-1) will host the Paradise Lady Panthers (9-12, 3-6) for a Battle of 114 10-3A matchup. The Alvord Lady Bulldogs (10-8, 6-2) will travel to take on Forestburg. The Chico Lady Dragons (7-9, 6-1) will host Graford. Saturday games include the Bridgeport Sissies (12-7, 3-5) at 3A No. 6 Gunter and Alvord at Chico. Both Saturday matches start at 10 a.m.

DISINFECTANT CHANGE – West Wise SUD will temporarily convert the disinfectant used in the distribution system from chloramine to free chlorine. The conversion will begin today and continue through Monday, Nov. 9. During this period, you may experience taste and odor changes associated with the conversion.

FALL PLANT SALE – Decatur High School FFA will hold a fall plant sale 10 a.m.-2 p.m. after the Decatur cross county meet at the high school greenhouse. Mums, pansies and violas will be available. Plants were grown by students enrolled in horticulture science. Decatur High School greenhouse is located behind the high school behind Agriculture Science building.

4-H KICK-OFF – Learn more about 4-H 4 p.m. Sunday at the Wise County Fairgrounds. There will be information, hot dog dinner, door prizes, activities for youth and recognition of the achievements from the 2019-2020 year. For more information call 940-627-3341.

CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT AND FALL FESTIVAL – The Bridgeport Lions Club will host a Cornhole Tournament and Fall Festival Saturday at Harwood Park. Registration is 10 a.m.-noon. The tournaments will begin at noon. It will include two tournament divisions – a social division where players can compete against locals for smaller prizes and an elite division where players from all over Texas will compete for $3,500. The event will also include different fall-themed games, attractions and a pumpkin patch. Admission to the event is free. Social division registration is $50 (per two-person team) and Elite division registration is $100 (per team).

WOMEN’S CLUB GOLF TOURNAMENT – The Bridgeport Women’s Club is hosting its 8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Sunday at the Bridgeport Country Club. Registration is $300 per team. Sponsor a Child for the Spirit of Christmas for $100. Lunch is provided. The shotgun start is 1 p.m. Call Jodi Mann for information, 979-848-6497.

CRAFT BEE – The MZ Bee will return 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in the Fellowship Hall at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 615 CR 1280, in Alvord. Bring your own projects, lunch and a snack to share if you wish. A refrigerator and microwave are available for use. WISE HOPE GOLF TOURNAMENT – Wise Hope will hold a charity golf tournament at RB Golf Club and Resort Saturday. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Three-person scramble begins at 9. Cost is $300 per team with $10 unlimited mulligans available. Call Janice at 940-626-4585 to register your team.
