WEST WISE SUD BOIL WATER NOTICE — West Wise Special Utility District issued a boil water notice Thursday after a water main was damaged. TCEQ has required the West Wise SUD to notify all customers to boil water prior to consumption. The West Wise SUD will notify customers when the water is safe for drinking or human consumption purposes.

JUST A TEST — Decatur ISD will run tests on the Centegix safety system today. The district said you may see or hear alarms and/or peace officer presence in connection with this testing.

STORMS POSSIBLE LATE SUNDAY — Hot and dry conditions are expected to continue through Sunday, with expected highs in the mid-90s each day, but rain chances return Sunday night with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cooler temperatures are expected to begin the work week.

ROTARY FISHING DERBY — The Decatur Rotary’s annual youth fishing derby is Saturday at Black Creek Lake in the LBJ Grasslands. Children 17 and under can participate. Free hot dogs and drinks will be available. Registration is 7:30-8 a.m., fishing from 8-11 a.m. and award ceremony 11 a.m.-noon. The event is free. Prizes will be awarded to anglers who reel in the largest fish, most fish and smallest fish. Black Creek Lake is located on Forest Service Road 902, north of Decatur.

GREENWOOD HOMECOMING — The Annual Greenwood Homecoming Luncheon is Sunday in downtown Greenwood. A potluck lunch will be served at noon. Meet and greet at 11:30 a.m. Iced tea and water will be provided.

STAR GAZING IN BRIDGEPORT — The City of Bridgeport and Northwest OHV Park will host a Star Party 8-10 p.m. Saturday. The park is at 279 George Mitchell Parkway. A local group of astronomers will be on hand to allow visitors to look through telescopes at the night sky. Bring a comfortable chair. This event is subject to weather and cloud cover. ANTIQUE TRACTOR SHOW — The Chisholm Trail Antique Farm Equipment Club presents the Jerry Askey Memorial Farm Festival 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Askey Ranch, 851 Ullman School Road in Decatur. Jerry Askey’s collection of more than 100 tractors and implements will be on display. Registration is 8-10 a.m., opening ceremony at 9:30, demonstrations and children’s activities 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and a tractor parade, awards and prizes at 3. SLEEPING BEAUTY PERFORMANCE — The Wise Performing Arts Guild presents Sleeping Beauty 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Decatur High School Theatre. Tickets can be purchased at buy.tututix.com/wisepag or at the door.

SPLASH DAYS — Rhome Fire Rescue’s annual Rhome Splash Days is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at 261 North School Road in Rhome. The free event will feature firetrucks, water slides and a splash zone.

SWEETWATER CEMETERY HOMECOMING — The Sweetwater Cemetery Homecoming is Sunday. Service is at 11 a.m., lunch at noon followed by the business meeting.

FUNERALS — Service for Russell Clayton Reynolds, 68, of Decatur is 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Decatur. Family visitation is 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

MEMORIAL for Sharran H. Brooks, 80, of Decatur will be held at a later date. Hawkins-Decatur is handling arrangements.

FUNERAL for James “Don” Chambers, 71, of Paradise is 1 p.m. Monday at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at Paradise Cemetery. Visitation is noon Monday at the funeral home.
