Lara’s hat trick lifts Bulls over Wylie

Bridgeport’s Ruben Lara had no trouble finding the goal Friday.

Lara scored a hat trick to lead the Bulls to a 7-0 shutout against Abilene Wylie.

Bridgeport’s Giovani Lopez, Sebastian Iniguez, Juan Gonzalez and Gerardo Martinez also scored goals.

Assists were credited to Lopez (2), Iniguez, Lara, Moi Medina and Joel Cervantes.

In goal, Cayden Rangel and Karlos Brown teamed up for five saves.

Bridgeport (11-2-1) hosts Mineral Wells in the non-district finale 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Eagles knock off Graham

The Decatur Eagles had five players light up the scoreboard Friday in a 5-1 win over Graham.

Abel Rodriguez, Carlos Gamboa, Norberto Lopez, Oscar Becerra and Cesar Gonzalez chipped in kicks for the Eagles.

Decatur (3-5) begins District 5-4A play at Gainesville 7:15 p.m. Feb. 8.

Staab scores two in win

Reagan Staab put a pair of kicks past the goaltender Friday to help Decatur hold off Graham 2-1.

Decatur (8-2) takes on Gainesville in the 5-4A opener 5:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at Gainesville High School.

Sissies struggle against Springtown

Cailey Negrete’s score was the Bridgeport Sissies’ lone score Friday in a 5-1 loss to Springtown.

Bridgeport (2-8-1) is scheduled to take on Mineral Wells 5:30 p.m. Friday.
