Behind 479 yards of total offense, the Alvord Bulldogs picked up their second win in District 7-2A Division I Friday.
Alvord limited Collinsville to 107 rushing yards in a 36-25 win.
The Bulldogs (5-2) now hold the top seed in 7-2AI at 2-0. Collinsville (3-4) fell to 1-1 in the league.
Alvord built a 21-6 halftime lead with a pair of scores by running back Jacob Johnson and a 14-yard pass to receiver Van Taylor from quarterback Jacob Martin.
Johnson ran for 236 yards and three touchdowns.
Collinsville narrowed Alvord’s lead to nine after a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Logan Jenkins to receiver Colin Barnes in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs cemented the victory in the fourth with Johnson’s third score of the game — a 2-yard run — and a 12-yard scramble by Martin.
Martin finished 12-for-17 for 158 yards, with one touchdown and a pick. Taylor caught five passes from Martin for 70 yards.
Alvord will face Trenton in a Week 9 5-2AI battle 7:30 p.m. Friday at Bulldog Stadium.
