Bulls drop district opener

Isaiah Smith’s team-high 18 points were not enough as Bridgeport fell to Krum 62-48 in its District 8-4A opener.

The Bobcats outscored the Bulls 33-20 in the second half.

Bridgeport fell to 12-13 and 0-1 in 8-4A. The Bulls took on rival Decatur Tuesday.

PEASTER 79, PARADISE 48

Peaster jumped out to a 41-26 halftime lead Friday, running away from Paradise 79-48.

Clint Demmit led the Panthers with 11 points. Braxton Thomason added 10.

Paradise fell to 12-10 and 2-3 in District 7-3A. The Panthers hosted Tolar Tuesday.

BOYD 56, JACKSBORO 55

Connor Richardson’s game-high 24 points propelled the Boyd Yellowjackets past Jacksboro 56-55 Friday night.

Boyd overcame a 26-23 halftime deficit. The Yellowjackets outscored the Tigers 33-29 in the second half.

Blake Rodgers chipped in 11 points for Boyd.

The Yellowjackets (8-12) improved to 1-3 in District 7-3A. They traveled to Millsap Tuesday.

ALVORD 52, ERA 49

Alvord staved off a second-half rally from Era Friday night to win its District 11-2A opener 52-49.

Hunter Richey led the way for the Bulldogs, tallying a team-high 18 points. Treyson Chambers poured in 14.

Alvord (15-6) is 1-0 in 11-2A. The Bulldogs headed to Poolville Tuesday.

CHICO 46, PETROLIA 44

Chico won its non-district finale Friday, knocking off Petrolia 46-44.

The Dragons began District 11-2A play Tuesday at home against Muenster.

SLIDELL 71, SAINT JO 45

Slidell captured sole possession of first place in District 22-A Friday, routing Saint Jo 71-45.

Brock Harwell buried five 3-pointers in the win, finishing with 15 points. Easton Vanover added 12.

The Greyhounds improved to 19-6 and 4-0 in 22-A. Slidell headed to Gold-Burg Tuesday.
