A home in Crafton was heavily damaged by fire Sunday evening.

According to Wise County Fire Marshal Jeff Doughty, a passerby reported a single-wide mobile home on fire in the 2600 block of Farm Road 2127 around 9:10 p.m.

Crafton and Chico firefighters responded to the blaze and quickly got it under control.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

“The fire department contained the fire to the living room – heavy fire damage to the living room and smoke and heat damage to the rest of the house,” Doughty said. “The owner was not home at the time of the fire, and her dog was able to escape uninjured when the fire department made entry.”

Doughty said the initial investigation points to electrical issues as the possible cause of the blaze.
