Basketball: Lady Hounds earn All-District honors – Meyer takes offensive MVP

Slidell’s Bailey Meyer earned District 21-A Offensive MVP as the Lady Hounds advanced to the Class A Region III semifinal.

Meyer led Slidell to a 26-7 record, helping the Lady Hounds claim their second consecutive district, bi-district and area title.

Slidell coach Lance Shelton earned District 21-A Coach of the Year.

Jayden Ellison and Cate Zuniga each earned first-team nods. Taylor Davis was a second-team selection. Sydney Keating received honorable mention.

The Lady Hounds knocked off Fannindel and Saltillo in the playoffs before falling to Gorman one game shy of the regional final.
