Basketball: Edgett, Smith earn first-team

Paycee Edgett and Miranda Smith earned first-team District 11-2A honors after leading Alvord to a third-place finish in district.

Smith averaged 12 points and four rebounds. Edgett averaged 10 points and six rebounds. Smith was the Alvord Tournament MVP. Edgett was an all-tournament selection at the Alvord and S&S tournaments.

Cydney Bailey was a second-team selection. Bailey averaged 6.6 points and 2.7 rebounds during the regular season.

Chico’s Danielle Gilmore was also tabbed to the second team.

Alvord’s Katelyn Schedcik, Abby Bloomer and Taylor Maag received honorable mention. Chico’s Reagan Hardee and Laynee North were also honorable mention.
