SNOWFLAKE SCAMPER – Boyd Elementary will hold its Snowflake Scamper Fun Run Jan. 25 during PE class.


DONUTS WITH DAD – Bridgeport Elementary hosts Donuts With Dad 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 at the cafeteria. The breakfast is also a kickoff for the school’s Watch DOGS program.

THE HUB – Bridgeport Middle School is offering an after-school program, The Hub, every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 to 5 p.m. Students will receive tutoring and mentoring, eat snacks and play games. Bus rides are offered with permission forms, which should be given to Janelle Gardner at the middle school. The Hub will be at First United Methodist Church, 608 17th Street. YEARBOOK ORDER – Yearbooks are available for $40, or $45 with personalization. Ordering information is on the district website.


COLLEGE FAIR – Sophomores and juniors may attend a college fair 9 to 11 a.m. Jan. 26 at the Region 11 Education Service Center in Fort Worth. The first 100 students to sign up and turn the permission form into the first floor office will be allowed to attend. To be eligible, students must be passing all classes and not have attendance or discipline issues.

SPELLING BEE – Young Elementary will host the area spelling bee 4 p.m. Jan. 22.

ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME – Decatur ISD is taking nominations for the Athletic Wall of Fame until Feb. 23. Each year up to three people will be inducted. A nomination form is online at decaturisd.us.

COFFEE WITH COUNSELOR – McCarroll Middle School will hold a Coffee with Counselor from 8 to 10 a.m. Jan. 30 in the library for parents of eighth graders to ask questions on scheduling.

INCOMING FRESHMEN MEETINGS – A pair of information sessions will be held in the Decatur High School Auditorium from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 25 and 29 for incoming freshmen and their parents.


COLLECTING ITEMS FOR MILITARY – The Paradise Junior High cheerleaders are collecting donations of money or care package items for former Panthers on active duty. Money or items may be dropped off at any campus office or at the donation cans at Finish Line and Hometown Tees. For a list of suggested items, see pisd.net.

HOMEWORK HELP – Paradise Intermediate is offering tutoring for all grade levels from 7:30 to 8 a.m. every morning.
