Crash victim dies

A Bridgeport man who was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Dec. 3 died Friday, according to Cpl. Lantz Elliott with the Department of Public Safety.

Rocky Leon Littrell, 64, died at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

He and his grandson, 14-year-old Dusty Littrell, were on their way to the Wise County Toy Run when the accident occurred. They were westbound on Farm Road 1655 about a mile west of Alvord when the motorcycle ran off the side of the road for an unknown reason around 10:45 a.m.

Helicopter ambulances were called for both Littrells. Rocky Littrell was flown to JPS, and Dusty Littrell was flown to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.

The teen suffered a compound fracture to his arm, according to Elliott, and has had multiple surgeries. He was released from the hospital Monday night and is expected to return to school after Christmas break. He’s a seventh grader at Alvord Middle School. Rocky Littrell’s funeral is 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
