Lady ‘Jackets lose to Ponder

{{{*}}}The Boyd Lady Jackets dropped their first district game Tuesday, falling to the Ponder Lady Lions 8-4.

Boyd (12-8, 2-1) led 2-0 after the top of the first, but gave up three runs in the bottom of the inning.

In the third the Lady Jackets jumped in front again 4-3, but Ponder came storming back in the fourth with two more runs.

Ponder would plate three more in the bottom of the sixth to put the game away.

Kaytlain Bullard and Chandler Hammon led the offense with two hits and two RBI’s each. Savannah Foster and Britney Howard each had singles.

Chelsea Arlington took the loss, going all six innings, giving up nine hits and striking out five.

Boyd will travel to Alvord Tuesday.
