
Alvord Pioneer Days
In June, the city of Alvord organizes Pioneer Days at Elm Creek Park in celebration of the small town.
The weekend-long event includes:
- Friends of the FFA cook-off
- 4-H Kids Zone including a petting zoo, lemonade stand, face-painting and bounce house
- Alvord Public Library's Dominoes in the Park
- Shorty Wheelis Fish Fry scholarship fundraiser
- food booths
- live music
Alvord Fall Festival
The city of Alvord gathers in mid-October for a fall festival, in conjunction with the fire department's annual fish fry.
This one-day event includes:
- arts and crafts

- music
- pumpkin giveaway
Boyd Cookoff
Originally organized by the Boyd Fire Department, the former Boyd Chili Cookoff now benefits the parks and recreation board. They also now encompass the judging of several foods such as chili, beans and brisket.
In addition to the judging of foods, this one-day event includes:

- an auction
Bridgeport Butterfield Stage Days
The second weekend in May the city of Bridgeport celebrates the town's reason for existence - the Butterfield Overland Mail Stagecoach. A bridge was built in order for this stagecoach to cross the Trinity River, thus initiating the establishment of the city of Bridgeport.

Bridgeport Coal Miner Heritage Festival
In celebration of the city's heritage, the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce and Bridgeport Historical Society co-sponsor the annual Coal Miner's Days Festival in September.

Chico Community Volunteer Fire Department Chili Supper and Annual Barbecue
The chili supper is held the second Saturday in February, and the annual barbecue is held the second Saturday in June. These events serve as a fundraisers for the volunteer fire department.

Decatur Main Street Easter Event
Decatur Main Street sponsors this Easter celebration the Saturday before Easter.
The one-day event includes:
- an egg hunt at the First United Methodist Church playground
- a fun jump
- face painting
- a petting zoo
- train rides
- pictures with the Easter Bunny
Decatur Chisholm Trail Days
Reviving an event that started in the '70s at the square but moved to the Sheriff's Posse Grounds before returning to the square five years ago, Chisholm Trail Days celebrate western heritage.

- train, pony, hay and stagecoach rides
- kids games
- craft vendors
- cowboy poetry
- a chuckwagon exhibit

Greenwood Homecoming
The first Sunday in June, the Greenwood community from near and far gathers for fellowship and food.
The event includes:

Greenwood Fall Festival
The annual Greenwood Fall Festival is held the second Saturday in October with proceeds benefitting the Wise County Extension Agency and Greenwood 4-H.

Greenwood Community Thanksgiving Lunch
The Friday before Thanksgiving Greenwood community members gather at the Greenwood Fire Hall for a lunch feast.
Newark Cruisin' Days
The third Saturday in October the Ladies Auxiliary hosts the Newark Cruisin' Days with proceeds benefiting the Newark Fire Department.
This one-day event includes:

- Mr. and Ms. Cruisin' Days pageant

Paradise Main Street Festival
The Paradise Historical Society sponsors the festival the last Saturday in September to raise funds for the Veterans Memorial Park, located in Paradise's downtown park.

Rhome Pioneer Days
In either May or June of each year, the Rhome Volunteer Fire Department Support Brigade organizes the Rhome Pioneer Days at the fire station to benefit the fire department.
This two-day event includes:
- a parade featuring antique cars and firetrucks
- craft and vendor booths
- entertainment
- bounce house and kids' games
- briskets sold by the fire department
Runaway Bay Fourth Fest
What started off as just the shooting of fireworks over Lake Bridgeport in Runaway Bay has become a day-long festival in celebration of our nation's independence.
This one-day event includes:
- a golf tournament
- a parade with golf cart and antique car entries
- food and craft booths
- bounce house and Lions' Club train for the kids
- National Guard rock climbing wall
- a raffle
- Honor Guard leading the national anthem
- live entertainment
- shooting of fireworks over Lake Bridgeport at dusk
