EARLY VOTING BEGINS - Today is the first day of early voting for the March 2 primary election. Polls are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Decatur Civic Center.
WE THE CHEERLEADERS - Bridgeport school board reviewed the high school's new "Cheerleader Constitution" at last night's meeting. The new policy places the top 16 scorers from ninth through 12th grades on the varsity squad. JV is comprised of the next 12 scorers from grades ninth through 11th. Formerly, all juniors and seniors who scored in the top 28 made varsity. Tryouts for next year's squad are scheduled for March 10.
SEATS IN PARADISE - The Paradise school board approved bids for stadium seats and a bleacher extension at Monday's meeting. At $9,900, 165 stadium seats will be placed in the middle section of the home side. The bleacher addition will add 200 seats to the north side of the home seating at a cost of $48,500.
UTILITY BILL COMPLAINTS - The Bridgeport City Council will meet at 7 tonight at city hall. Citizens are expected to speak about high utility bills.
EQUINE CENTER FUNDRAISER - The Harlem Ambassadors Basketball team will play the Flying Wings, a team made up of local men and women, at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Decatur High School Gym.
