STUDENT MAKES THREAT - The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating a complaint about a death threat made by a Bridgeport High School student against four other students. Assistant Chief Steve Stanford said Thursday that investigators met with a student on Monday who said a 15-year-old male student had threatened to kill several students and place bombs throughout the facility sometime in February 2010. Police met with the suspect who admitted to the threats, which he said were made in a response to being bullied. Stanford said police did not find a "hit list" or any weapons. Police seized the suspect's computer and will submit it for forensic analysis. Stanford said the suspect, his parents and the school were all fully cooperating with the investigation. The suspect has been charged with terroristic threat, a third degree felony. Bridgeport Superintendent Eddie Bland said Thursday that the suspect had been suspended from school, and there will be other disciplinary action taken, although he couldn't comment on the specifics. "The safety of our students is a priority for us. We take this very seriously," he said.
