FAST GROWING DISTRICT - As the housing market begins its recovery, Northwest is slated to be the fastest growing school district in North Texas and among the fastest growing in the state, said Bob Templeton with Templeton Demographics at Monday's Northwest school board meeting. Templeton projects between 900 and 1,000 new home starts for the year and a current new vacant home inventory of 547 homes, or a 4.9 months supply. Currently, the district has 253 homes under construction, 4,416 vacant developed lots and 25,477 future lots, the highest in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

FALL FEST - The Catholic churches in Decatur, Bridgeport and Jacksboro will host their annual Fall Fest noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary church, 1305 Deer Park Road, in Decatur. A 42-inch flat screen TV, $500 gift card, iPod touch, a fishing trip and an airplane ride will be raffled. Many silent auction items, rides, games for adults and children are on the agenda.
