FIRE DEPARTMENT CHANGES - Chief Robert Waters and Asst. Chief Jeff Duncan of Boyd's Volunteer Fire Department resigned Sunday night. Remaining department members appointed Vince Estel to serve as interim chief until the department holds officer elections in January. Estel is also a member of the Boyd police department.
BOARD TO CONSIDER RESIGNATION - The Chico School Board tonight will consider a resignation agreement with Athletic Director and football coach Pete Hart. The 6:30 meeting, which is expected to draw a large crowd, is in the elementary cafetorium.
CHAMPIONS AGAIN - The Decatur Lady Eagles claimed their second straight Class 3A state cross country title and third since 2005 Saturday in Round Rock. Decatur finished with 57 points, easily beating Lucas Lovejoy and Argyle, which tied for second with 130 points. Hanna Galloway finished seventh overall. Natalie Neighbors finished 10th, Zuleima Palamo 11th, Bianca Morrison 26th and Veronica Torres 47th. Boyd's Katie Mark finished 40th in the Class 2A race. Slidell's Allie Staub finished 11th in the Class 1A race.
BOYD'S RUN ENDS - The Boyd Yellowjackets fell to Pilot Point 59-42 Friday in a Class 2A Division I playoff game at Springtown ISD Stadium. Boyd had won five consecutive games to win the district title. They finished the season at 6-5.
DINNER - Zion Valley Cumberland Presbyterian, St. Mark Ascension and First Presbyterian Bridgeport churches will have a Thanksgiving share dinner Sunday following the 11 a.m. service at First Presbyterian. Guests are asked to bring a dish to share and food donations for WARM.
BOOSTERS - Boyd Band Boosters meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Band Hall at the high school.
BENEFIT COOKOUT - Legend Bank of Decatur is having a burger and fries cookout today, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at 1706 FM 51 South. Proceeds benefit Decatur Spirit of Christmas.
BLUE LIGHTS - Concerns of Police Survivors is encouraging law enforcement families, friends and law enforcement agencies to decorate in blue lights this holiday season. By placing one blue light in a window, it will show support for officers killed in the line of duty and those who continue to work America's streets. By placing strings of blue lights outside the home, at the department, and throughout the community, law enforcement officers will understand that they are appreciated.
DIABETIC SUPPORT GROUP - Diabetic Support Group Meeting will be 6 tonight at Wise Regional Health System. FUNERAL for Evelena McKeever, 90, of Chico was Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
