BREAKING NEWS - HOUSE FIRE - Alvord and Decatur fire departments were dispatched to a house fire in the 3900 block of Old Decatur Road just before 3 p.m. Monday. Firefighters quickly put out a fire that started in the garage. The garage suffered smoke and water damage.
WRECK - As Update was going to press just before 8 a.m., the Alvord Fire Department and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene of an accident on Farm Road 1655 south of Farm Road 2265. The first report was a vehicle had run down an embankment. There were no reports of injuries.
SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS - Applications for Rhome's Spirit of Christmas are at City Hall and are due back by Nov. 20. The program provides toys and clothes for economically disadvantaged children. It is sponsored by the city of Rhome and Rhome United Methodist Church. ALSO, Chico Spirit of Christmas applications are available at First State Bank of Chico or the elementary school. Turn in applications by Nov. 9.
