DEATH INVESTIGATION CONTINUES - Jerry Worley, 74, died yesterday afternoon from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning. She and her husband, Robert Worley, the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd, were found asphyxiated from carbon monoxide around 6:15 p.m. Sunday in their home. Robert Worley died Sunday. Officers say a vehicle was left running in the garage. Funeral for Robert Worley is pending at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

AUTUMN'S HERE - Today is the first day of Autumn, and it feels like it. The temperature at 7:30 a.m. was 63 degrees in Decatur. The high today is expected to reach only 70 degrees. Overnight rainfall totals include 0.65 of an inch in Alvord, 0.4 in Chico and 0.03 in Decatur. There is a 30 percent chance of more rain today.

COMMUNITY MEETING - There will be a meeting for residents of the Allison Community at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Allison Community tabernacle on County Road 2513. BEARS - Boyd High School cheerleaders are collecting new stuffed animals for hospitalized children throughout the football season at all home games.

FOOD DRIVE - Home Health Care in Bridgeport is holding a food drive to benefit WARM and the Bridgeport Food Pantry. The drive runs through Oct. 16. All non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the Bridgeport office or the items can be picked up. For more information call (940) 683-3300.

WATCH DOGS MEETING - Carson Elementary School has its WatchD.O.G.S. Pizza Night for all dads and students 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. WatchD.O.G.S. is the Dads of Great Students program that allows dads to be involved by volunteering on campus.

GT NOMINATIONS - Chico ISD will accept nominations for new students in grades K-11 for Gifted and Talented program screening through Friday, Sept. 25. Students may be nominated by teachers, administrators, counselors or parents. Forms are available in the front office of each campus. Call Dolly Green at (940) 644-5783 for more information.

RABIES CLINIC - Decatur Animal Control will provide $6 rabies vaccinations for all dogs and cats over 12 weeks old 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 10 at the First United Methodist Church of Decatur parking lot. Other vaccinations will be available at reduced prices. All dogs much be on a leash, and please have cats in carriers. Decatur Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will assist.

FUNERALS - Services are pending for James B. Vandiver, 84, and Joan Haak, 61, both of Decatur, and Tobi Moss, 26, of Briar at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

GRAVESIDE service for Charles West, 84, of Suffolk, Va., is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rosston Cemetery. Family visitation is 6:30-8:30 tonight at Coker-Hawkins.

FUNERAL for Rosemary A. Griffeth, 65, of Decatur is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Sycamore Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

GRAVESIDE service for Owen Lee Henry, 71, of New Braunfels is 2 p.m. Thursday at Oaklawn Cemetery. Coker-Hawkins is handling arrangements.
