BREAKING NEWS - BUS ACCIDENT - A chartered bus carrying a college football team from Oklahoma Panhandle State University to the Metroplex was involved in an accident at 5 p.m. on U.S. 81/287 South near Catfish O'harlie's north of Decatur. Department of Public Safety Trooper David Riggs said a pickup driven by John Boyd, 59, of Krum was crossing southbound U.S. 81/287 and failed to yield the right of way to the bus. Boyd was taken to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur. No one on the bus was injured. Southbound traffic was reduced to one lane in the area until the wreck was cleared at 6:30.
WORLEY DEATHS RULED ACCIDENTAL - The deaths of Rev. Robert Worley and his wife, Jerry, have been ruled accidental, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office. According to information posted on the office's Web site, Jerry Worley's cause of death is listed as "acute carbon monoxide intoxication" and the manner of death "accidental." Officers believe she left a car running in a closed garage Sunday afternoon, causing the carbon monoxide fumes to enter the home. Funeral for the Worleys is 2 p.m. today at Aurora Baptist Church with burial in Boyd Cemetery.
PARADISE FESTIVAL - The Paradise Main Street Festival is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Paradise Veteran's Memorial Park will be dedicated during the event, and local veterans will be honored. The festival will include food and craft booths, talent shows and speeches.
FOOTBALL - Tonight's match ups include Boyd playing host to Grandview, Bridgeport at Argyle, Chico at Henrietta, Decatur at Prosper, Nocona at Paradise and Grapevine at Northwest. It's homecoming at Paradise and Boyd. All games start at 7:30.
HEALTH FAIR - The Wise Regional Health System Harvest Health Fair is 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday in front of the hospital. The free event will include health screenings, blood pressure checks, cholesterol checks, PSA testing (for men over 50), blood sugar checks, a kids fun area, face painting, cake walk and the Corporate Wellness Challenge where teams compete in an obstacle course.
