But the Eagles’ last gasp went off the side of the rim, allowing the Krum Bobcats to walk out of Decatur High School gym with a 55-54 victory.

It took almost three quarters, but the Bridgeport full-court press eventually wore down the Decatur Lady Eagles on Tuesday night. After allowing a few easy baskets to start the second half, the Sissies quickly mounted an 8-0 run. Fueled by forced turnovers and deflected passes, Bridgeport started to gain separation. Capitalizing off a bevy of Decatur miscues, the Sissies pulled away from the Lady Eagles for a 51-36 win on the road.

The Decatur Eagles and Bridgeport Bulls both got off to somewhat lethargic starts Tuesday night. On one hand, the Bulls managed just four points in the first quarter, while on the other, the Eagles failed to pull away in the first half. But a different Decatur team emerged from the locker room after the intermission. Behind a 22-5 run in the third quarter, the Eagles quickly started pouring it on rival Bridgeport, cruising to a 60-36 victory.
