Stroke of genius: Decatur’s Drew Jones shows natural talent for the game of golf

DEDICATED TEACHER - Teddy Ashcraft, PGA teaching professional at The Golf Club at The Resort on Eagle Mountain Lake, has worked with Drew Jones since Drew was 6 years old. Drew is happiest when he's on the golf course. He has had a club in his hands since age 2 and played in his first tournament at 5. The 12-year-old is the son of Steve and Jana Jones of Decatur.
His freckled face lights up when he smiles, which is most of the time. His reddish blonde hair, in an Ian Kinsler cut (minus the curls) peers out from beneath his cap. At 5’3″ he is tall for his age, but on a golf course dominated by grown men and women, he draws attention for his small stature.
