Lamirand, Hogan lead Eagles to win

Decatur seniors Austin Lamirand and Caleb Hogan made sure Tuesday would not be their last high school basketball game.
The duo combined for 39 points in the Eagles’ 65-39 win over Glen Rose in the Class 3A Region I bi-district game at Weatherford High School
Lamirand drained four three-pointers and led all scorers with 20 points. He hit three treys in the third quarter as Decatur outscored Glen Rose 20-6 to take a 51-31 lead.
With Lamirand hitting from the outside, Hogan added 19 points inside. He scored nine in the second quarter and another seven in the third.
Hogan’s big second quarter helped the Eagles stretch their lead after the first quarter to six, 31-25, at halftime.
Jared Durdon added seven points for Decatur. Cameron Mize finished with six. Austin Givens had four. Brevon Blaylock, Taylor Clayton and Parker Slate scored three each.
