Superintendents in District 10-2A will convene Friday in Peaster to consider the eligibility of a member of the league champion Brock Lady Eagles.
The 10-2A District Executive Meeting will start at 10 a.m. in the Peaster Middle School Library.
District Chairman and Peaster Superintendent Matt Adams said the superintendents will listen to the case in executive session since it concerns student records.
They will reconvene in open session to vote on the issue and hand down any necessary penalties.
Brock won the league going 14-0. The Lady Eagles are ranked No. 3 in the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll.
Godley finished second in the district. Boyd and Tolar tied for third and will play a tiebreaker game for the league’s final playoff spot Saturday at 2 p.m. in Brock.
Boyd Superintendent John Emshoff said the committee will listen to the evidence in the case and any decision will be based on it.
“I’ll listen to the issue and vote on what is right and fair,” he said. “Whether it may benefit our team is irrelevant. Someone will have to prove that this player was ineligible.”
