UIL releases new alignments

Decatur and Bridgeport will be heading east to compete next fall.
In the newest round of realignment released Thursday morning, Bridgeport and Decatur were moved into District 9-3A with Gainesville, Krum and Sanger. The two Wise county schools move from Region I to Region II for the first time in several years.
Boyd and Paradise will be in District 5-2A Division I with Bowie, Callisburg, Pilot Point, Ponder and Whitesboro. Pilot Point and Whitesboro are moving down from 3A.
Alvord remained in Class 2A, turning in 204. The cutoff for 1A was 199. The Bulldogs will be in the football league, District 5-2A Division II with Henrietta, Holliday, Jacksboro, Nocona and City View.
For basketball, Alvord, Boyd and Paradise will be in District 9-2A together with Brock, Millsap, Peaster and Ponder.
Chico stayed in Class A Division I. It will be in District 7-A with Blue Ridge, Collinsville, Lindsay, Trenton and Valley View.
In Class 5A, Northwest fell into District 4 with Haltom City, Keller Central, Fossil Ridge, Keller, Timber Creek, Richland Hills and Southlake Carroll.
In Class A Division II, Slidell moved to District 21-A and remained with Bellevue, Gold-Burg, Forestburg, Midway, Prairie Valley, and Saint Jo.
Schools begin competing in the new leagues in August. They will remain in effect until June 2014.
