With three runners in the top 10, the Northwest Lady Texans grabbed second-place Thursday at the District 7-5A meet at Grapevine’s Oak Grove Park.
Northwest finished with 68 points. Southlake Carroll captured the league title with 24 points. Coppell was third, scoring 71. All three will advance to the Class 5A Region I race in Lubbock Nov. 5.
Carroll’s Courtney Kriegshauser won the 7-5A individual title, running 11:31 on the two-mile course.
Northwest freshman Katherine Chavez finished third in 11:40. Sophomore Kellee McCann took fifth in 11:44. Taylor Bohr nabbed 10th in 11:57.
Alyssa Childress ran 12:57 for 24th. Cooper Mitchell was the fifth Lady Texan, finishing 26th in 13:00.
