Eagles fall to 2-7 after tourney

The Decatur Eagles fell to 2-7 on the season after a 2-3 showing over the weekend at the Gunter/Prosper Tournament.
After getting a split on Thursday, the Eagles dropped games to the Coppell JV and Sanger. Decatur beat Lovejoy Friday.
Sanger beat Decatur 4-2 in the finale of the tournament. Sanger led 4-0 entering the seventh innings. Decatur rallied with a two-run seventh. Francisco Perez and Jeremy Adams doubled and drove in runs.
Clint Moore took the loss, allowing two earned runs on six hits.
Decatur fell to the Coppell JV 11-7. Moore and Perez drove in three runs each and hit home runs.
Coppell put up seven runs in the third inning to take an 11-4 lead. Decatur scored three in the seventh to pull within four runs.
Decatur beat Lovejoy 10-6 on the strength of an eight-run third inning.
Colton Parker tripled after a Colby Moore walk to begin the big inning. Ryan Cangley then homered to bring in two runs. After doubles by Zach Gage and Cody Barlow, Moore put the exclamation point on the inning with a home run.
Gage earned the victory, going six innings. He allowed six earned runs on nine hits.
