Lady Bulldogs earns split in tourney

The Alvord Lady Bulldogs went 3-3 at their own tournament over the weekend.
Alvord scored wins over Muenster, Archer City and Boyd. The Lady Bulldogs fell to Lindsay, Peaster and Royse City.
Alvord started the tournament with a 24-1 victory over Muenster. Harley Hooks and Kala Cash drove in five runs each. Hooks was one of three Alvord hitters to finish with four hits. Naudia Batchelor and Ariel Rogers also had four hits.
The Lady Bulldogs suffered back-to-back losses to Lindsay and Peaster. Alvord fell to Lindsay 2-1 and Peaster 7-1.
Alvord rebounded with a 7-6 victory over Archer City. Lindsey Pollard went 2-for-3 with a triple. Ariel Rogers drove in a pair of run, tripling for her lone hit.
After a 7-0 loss to Royse City, Alvord closed the tournament with a 6-4 victory over Boyd. Brittany Cantrell led the offense with a home run and three RBIs.
Hooks earned the victroy, allowing three earned runs in five innings. She struck out five and allowed three hits.
