Eagles soar past Bulls

The Decatur Eagles attacked the basket in the second half and pulled away from the Bridgeport Bulls to move to 2-0 in District 5-3A.
The Eagles opened the second half with a 19-4 run on their way to a 67-35 victory at Decatur High School Gym.
Decatur worked the ball inside consistently at the start of the second half to forwards Nick Linder and Trey Hale. Linder scored eight of his game-high 20 points in the third quarter. Hale put in seven of his 11 in the frame.
Decatur defensively held Bridgeport to just six points in the third quarter to build a 49-23 lead.
Decatur built its lead to as high as 34 points, 65-31, in the final quarter.
Austin Lamirand finished with 15 points. Caleb Hogan added 10.
Daniel Scott led Bridgeport with eight.
