Behind a hot start by Amber Greer, the Alvord Lady Bulldogs protected their hold on the final playoff spot and third-place in District 9-2A Friday night with a 49-34 win over the Boyd Lady Yellowjackets.
Greer hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter to help Alvord out to a 17-10 first-quarter lead. Greer finished with a game-high 15 points.
Madi Lynch joined her in double figures with 14. Jordan Ward finished with six.
Alvord built the lead to 12, 29-17, at halftime.
Boyd was never got closer than 10 in the second half.
Boyd was led in scoring by Jessica Drake and Shelbi Tidwell with 11 each. Shea Williams added six. Keenan Burgin had five.
