Coppell rallies past Texans

The Coppell Cowboys ended the game on a 9-2 run over the final three minutes to hand the Northwest Texans their first District 7-5A loss Friday, 47-46. Northwest outlasts Keller

Orlando Byrd’s basket in the final minute of overtime put the Northwest Texans up for good Tuesday in a 48-45 win over Keller. The victory moved Northwest to 2-0 in District 7-5A.

Texans qualify for regionals

The Northwest Texans powerlifting team took second place Saturday at a qualifying meet in Crowley. Jeff Stevens and Colton Roelefs earned regional bids with their efforts. Behind a strong defensive effort and its work on the boards, Northwest (17-8, 7-2) knocked off Colleyville Heritage 48-39 in the battle of the district co-leaders.
