The Sissies gave Burkburnett a run Friday but came up a couple of points short.
Burk needed extra points to win the first game, 28-26. Bridgeport played it close again in the second but fell 25-22. The Sissies rallied to make it two games to one, 26-24, but couldn't even the match and fell 25-23.
Coach Lynn Larson said she was proud of the way her team came out ready to compete. The squad matched up well with Burkburnett but made a few critical mistakes at the end.
Bridgeport got 14 kills from Haley Meekins and 13 from Jessica Hartsell. Alicia Erwin contributed seven and Macey Robinson five. Lauren Richey set up the front line with 36 assists.
The Sissies also had some success scoring from the service line, with nine aces. Richey hit three, and Katie Cook and Erwin two each.
The back row kept Bridgeport alive with 70 digs, led by Hartsell's 15, 13 each from Meekins and Richey, 12 from Angelica Reyes and eight by Becky Grinnell.
Last Tuesday the Sissies fell to Vernon 25-20, 25-20, 25-15. Larson said unforced errors at crucial times in the match was key, and the Sissies need to improve offensive production, with only 12 kills and 16 assists in the contest.
Meekins slammed 10 points, and Erwin, Hartsell and Grinnell each had four, with 10 assists from Jordyn Hulsey and six from Richey.
Hartsell provided four points with aces, Cook three and Hulsey two. Hartsell dug out eight shots, Richey six, Meekins five and Hulsey, Erwin and Grinnell had four each.
