| TURF? - The Decatur School Board last night decided to hold a workshop Dec. 9 to consider a couple of proposals, including the possibility of installing artificial turf to the football field, brought to them by community members during the public forum portion of the meeting. Jeff Bakker, who said he was speaking on behalf of a group of community members, said a group of citizens would attempt to raise $200,000 of the estimated $800,000 price tag for artificial turf with the school picking up the remainder of the cost. Bakker also suggested the board call a bond election in the spring for a multi-purpose, indoor practice facility. |
