The third tournament of the season was not quite the charm for Chico High School golfer Blake Moss this week. However, it is an event in which very few around the state get the chance to participate, which is an accomplishment in itself.

Bridgeport's Candace Brister has been to the University Interscholastic League golf championships in Austin all four years of high school. On Friday, she completed her best round ever at the state tournament with a two-day score of 156.

Some children are born with inherent gifts. Music man Harry Connick Jr. learned to play the keyboard by age 3 and was making professional jazz recordings by age 10. Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky was skating with big guys by age 6 and had scored 378 goals by age 10 after only playing in 85 games.
And 8-year-old Cole Reaves of Wise County had a natural penchant toward motorcycles. He was riding motorcycles by age 4 and started competing in races by age 5.
