Dragons take a pounding
Alvord 38, Chico 0

The homecoming crowd in Alvord had plenty to cheer about Friday as the Bulldogs won big over rival Chico 38-0.
Dylan Barclay put the 'Dogs on the board with 8:12 left in the first quarter on a 33-yard run. Jose Luna, who was successful on all five point-after kicks, split the uprights for a 7-0 Alvord lead.

Quarterback Trevor Hartfield scored with 31 seconds left in the half on a 4-yard run, and Alvord led 14-0 at the half.

The Bulldogs sealed the win in the third quarter with two more scores to put the game out of reach. Hartfield scored his second touchdown on another 4-yard run, and Barclay added his second score with 51 seconds remaining in the third to give Alvord a 28-0 lead heading into the final quarter.

With 6:03 remaining in the game, Luna was good on a 22-yard field goal. Cody Harrison added a 2-yard touchdown run with 2:41 remaining to end the scoring.

Alvord did all of their damage on the ground, rolling up 352 yards of rushing offense. Barclay was the games leading rusher with 176 yards on 21 carries. The Bulldog defense held Chico to 95 yards of total offense.

For the Dragons, quarterback Ryan Mote was 3 of 10 passing for 39 yards and two interceptions. Justin Carlton rushed 19 times for 35 yards.

Alvord (5-3, 2-1) will host Jacksboro next week while Chico (0-8, 0-3) will host Millsap.
