The first round of postseason football honors came out this week, and Bridgeport dominated the list. Six members of the Bull's state quarterfinalist team were selected to the Associated Press' all-state football team.
The Bulls were impressive on both sides of the ball this year and the AP recognized that. They had four offensive and two defensive players receive accolades.
It was no surprise that four were picked from the offensive side of the ball. That's where Bridgeport had the county's top offense, and one of the most dangerous in the state, as it averaged 453 yards and 45 points a game.
A lot of that had to do with two second-team all-state selections. The duo included lineman Corey Henson and running back Corbin Green.
Honorable mention went to linemen Stewart Price and Erick Serafin. The three offensive linemen picked by the AP were some of the best since head coach Danny Henson arrived in 1993.
Defensively, the Bulls had two standouts named to the honorable mention all-state team. Linebacker Zach Bracken and defensive back Trevor Schuett were tabbed as two of the best in all of Texas.
The complete Class 3A all-state team is listed below. The AP all-state team is voted on by Texas sportswriters and editors.
