The Yellowjackets improved to 3-0 (4-4 for the season) while dropping the Tigers to 1-2 in league play.
Jacksboro's 16 fourth-quarter points made it look a little closer. The Tigers didn't get on the board until 3:08 was left in the third quarter, and by then Boyd had posted 24 points.
The 'Jackets got on top at 1:29 in the first period on a 15-yard pass from Tim Fleming to Kyle Stearns followed by Edgar Lugo's extra point. The lead could have come earlier, but Colton Lyon's 34-yard run ended at the 1-yard line with Jacksboro stripping the ball and recovering it in the end zone.
Next the Tigers muffed the kickoff, which backed them up to the 1-yard line. Boyd held, and the ensuing punt was low, hitting the Tiger line. Boyd took over at the 15, and Lugo followed with a 35-yard field goal at 9:58 in the second quarter for a 10-0 lead.
Ryan Wilson covered 13 yards for a Boyd touchdown. Lugo booted the margin to 17-0 at 2:30 of the second quarter. A 50-yard pass from Fleming to Stearns helped the drive.
In the third period Fleming and Stearns hooked up for an 18-yard scoring play, on a drive aided by a 50-yard Fleming run. Lugo's PAT put Boyd ahead 24-0 with 7:51 to go in the third quarter.
The Tigers finally broke the drought with a scoring drive to make it 24-6, which is how it stood to end the third quarter.
Lugo added a 27-yard field goal with 11:14 to play.
Jacksboro came right back on an 85-yard drive and two-point conversion to make it 27-14.
Boyd countered with only 1:53 to play, burning off several minutes and adding a Brandon Bomar scoring run from three yards. Lugo's kick was blocked, but Boyd led 33-14.
Jacksboro quarterback Kole Weldon scrambled for 69 yards just seconds later to account for the final margin.
Fleming ended the night with 120 yards rushing and 147 passing Stearns made four catches worth 97 yards. Jacksboro wound up with 242 yards rushing, but 185 came in the second half.
Boyd's next challenge will be to host Paradise Friday, a 34-18 loser to 2-1 Millsap. That could set up a district title tilt at Millsap Nov. 6.
