It looked at first like the two might get into a scoring fest, with the last possession to determine the outcome.
But Millsap pulled away to improve to 2-1 in the District 9-2A standings while Paradise fell to 1-2 (1-7 season) and has the prospect of facing a Boyd team riding a three-game district win streak this week.
The Panthers led this one early, thanks to a 29-yard pass from Taylor Goforth to Jonathan Lee. The game was only 51 seconds old but the Panthers led 6-0.
Millsap struck gold early in the second period on a long run to edge ahead 7-6.
Paradise responded with a 2-yard run by Lee, but again the conversion try failed. Still the Panthers were up 12-7. The final two and a half minutes of the first half saw Millsap tally twice on short runs, including the final one with just five seconds to go. That put the Bulldogs up 21-12 at halftime.
A fumble recovery by Phillip Sims just seconds into the third quarter brought Paradise back within 21-18. But Millsap needed only two minutes to score again and extend the lead to 27-18. And less than two minutes after that, Millsap's lead grew to 34-18. The final 19:33 of the game was played without a score from either side.
The Paradise offense had trouble on the ground, with only 52 yards on 26 attempts. The passing game did result in 130 yards on 12-23, but each phase of the offense gave up one turnover.
Lee's 52 yards paced the Panther ground attack while Goforth was 12-23 passing. Top receiver was Dylan Goforth with four catches and 66 yards.
The Panthers will need to get past Boyd this week to make the season ender with Alvord on Nov. 6 a matter for playoff standings.
