About Alvord: The Bulldogs could secure a playoff spot with a win and a Paradise loss to Boyd. Alvord rushed for 352 yards last week against Chico in a 38-0 win. Luis Maldonado recorded 11 tackles.

About Jacksboro: The Tigers have dropped two games in a row. They fell to Boyd 33-22 last week. Jacksboro ran for 242 yards with quarterback Kole Weldon leading the way.

About Bridgeport: The Bulls remain District 5-3A's lone undefeated team. Bridgeport took down Vernon 49-7 last week. Quarterback Cody Henson enters the game with 1,944 yards passing and 22 touchdowns.

About Hirschi: The Huskies are still looking for their first win in District 5-3A. Hirschi led Iowa Park early last week before falling 35-28. Iowa Park preserved the win with a sack at the 19-yard line to end the game

Paradise (1-7, 1-2) at Boyd (4-4, 3-0)

About Paradise: The Panthers fell to Millsap last week 34-18. Paradise allowed Millsap to score 21 points in the second quarter and gave up a total of 401 yards. Paradise quarterback Taylor Goforth threw for 130 yards and a touchdown.

About Boyd: The Yellowjackets rolled to a third straight win in District 9-2A play last week with a 33-22 win over Jacksboro. Boyd led 24-0 in the game before allowing 22 points in the final quarter and half. Quarterback Tim Fleming accounted for 267 of Boyd's 417 yards.

About Millsap: The Bulldogs overcame four turnovers to rally past Paradise last week and move to 7-1. Millsap's lone loss was in the district opener to Alvord. Millsap's Matt Callan ran for 117 yards and two touchdowns last week.

About Chico: The Dragons are looking for their first win and first points in district play. Chico was blanked by Alvord last week 38-0. The Chico defense forced three turnovers.

Decatur (1-6, 1-2) at Vernon (1-7, 1-2)

About Decatur: The Eagles fell to 1-2 in league play with a 55-26 loss to Burkburnett Friday. Decatur had trouble stopping the run and allowed 448 yards rushing. Decatur was able to run for 189 yards.

About Vernon: After beating Hirschi to start District 5-3A play, the Lions have dropped two in a row. Vernon was drilled at home last week by Bridgeport, 49-7. Vernon gave up 389 yards.

About Northwest: The Texans let a 14-0 lead slip away last week in a 31-14 loss to Fossil Ridge. Tristan Cesar rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown.

About Fossil Ridge: The Trojans beat Grapevine 55-14 last week to move to 5-0 in District 5-5A. Trinity rolled up 534 yards in the victory, including 428 yards rushing.
