The Yellowjackets racked up 28 points during that period on their way to a 38-7 victory over the visiting Panthers.
That left Boyd at 4-0 in the district standings and a date at Millsap Nov. 6 with the 9-2A title on the line. Boyd will make the playoffs, coming in at 4-0 (5-4 season), and Millsap is at 3-1 (8-1 season). The Bulldogs were victors over Chico Friday (see related story).
Boyd was clinging to a 3-0 lead over the pesky Panthers, thanks to Edgar Lugo's 33-yard field goal early in the second quarter.
With a minute left in the half, Boyd stretched its lead to 10-0 on a 5-yard run by Ryan Wilson. His 51-yard run had also helped set up Lugo's field goal. Tim Fleming hooked up with Kyle Stearns for 16 yards to keep the drive alive from the 21 with Boyd facing 4th-and-5. Lugo's kick made it 10-0.
Paradise tried a double reverse, but Hollis Gregory jarred the ball loose and J.D. Childers scooped it up at the 11 with 19 seconds left in the half. Fleming threw to Lugo from 11 yards with eight ticks on the clock, and another Lugo PAT made it 17-0.
It went to 24-0 at 9:40 in the third quarter when Boyd capped its first possession after the half - a 58-yard drive in five plays - with a Colton Lyon 15-yard run. Though he fumbled near the goal, Stearns covered it in the end zone, and Lugo's kick was again true.
At the 6:10 mark, Lyon tallied from 18 yards and it went to 31-0 Boyd.
Wilson scored the final Boyd points with 11:14 left in the game on an 11-yard run, followed by Lugo's kick.
Paradise got on the board with 3:57 to play on a 30-yard run by Jonathan Lee. Watt Ragle kicked the extra point.
Boyd concentrated its attack on the ground, rushing 34 times for 314 yards while attempting just nine passes. Lyon ended the night with 88 yards and Wilson 86
The Paradise offense included 32 runs for 170 yards and 6-13 passes for 48. Lee had 92 yards on the ground.
Paradise will conclude its season hosting an Alvord team that would need some help to make the playoffs. The loss eliminated Paradise from the chase at 1-3, 1-8 on the year.
