Boyd's Katie Marks won the Division II girls race and Alvord girls placed third Saturday. Both were competing in the Gerald Richey Invitiational cross country meet at Vandergriff Park in Arlington, hosted by the University of Texas at Arlington.
Marks' 12:49 beat the next best time by 15 seconds. Also making the top 10 was Jordan Ward of Alvord in 13:55, good for 10th place.
Sanger ran away with the meet with 33 points while Gunter was second at 117, just ahead of Alvord with 125. Boyd was fifth with 144 and Paradise sixth at 156.
Paradise's best finish was from Shanee Gober in 12th, running in 14:04.
Other places and times for Alvord were Rebecca Hofsiss, 15th in 14:10; Chelsey Steele, 26th in 14:30; Ashley Musgrave, 35th in 14:40; Caly Rangle, 39th in 14:47; Robyn Musgrave, 58th in 15:19; and Tabitha Hofsiss, 59th in 15:20.
Other places and times for Boyd were Skylar Truly, 25th in 14:29; Courtney Sanders, 29th in 14:36; Dancey Jordan, 41st in 14:50; and Bethany Riley, 48th in 14:59.
Other places and times for Paradise were Haley Mitchell, 22nd in 14:26; Kim Sadler, 36th in 14:43; Lauren Brinson, 40th in 14:47; and Ashley Sparks, 46th in 14:54.
