Bridgeport junior varsity teams got a win in the boys' division and a runner-up in the girls'.
Irene Amador paced the varsity with a 13:57, good for third. Tiffany Hawkins placed fourth in 14:08, Renia Mack sixth in 14:24, Bin Na Kim eighth in 14:27, Sabrina Garza 13th in 14:46, Alyssa Holmes 14th in 15:04 and Emily Price 17th in 15:08.
Coach Dayna Hudson said the smaller meet was nice because coaches could watch the athletes and check their pace without being stuck in large crowds.
Alex Garcia won the JV boys' division with a 20:09. Shawn James was fourth (21:04), Mac Whitcomb fifth (21:12), Orlando Gonzalez eighth (21:50), Brandon Meyer 12th and AJ Baker 21st.
Alejandra Huerta paced the girls, finishing in 16:14, Leydey Montoya was close behind in 16:23. Macy Bishop (17:27), Katie Samples (17:59) and Sarah Joiner (18:02) rounded out the team.
"Each meet has different trails, hills and terrain, so it is difficult to compare times each week," Hudson said. "Thus, the best judge is watching how we compare to the other runners present, and we obviously fared well this week."
