The Decatur High School cheerleaders' annual mini cheer camp is 10 a.m. to noon, July 27-29, at the high school gym. Campers will work on jumps, motions, dance and fun games. Decatur Youth Football and Cheer sign-ups were to be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Decatur Market Place (formerIy IGA). The early bird special for football players is $100. Alvord girls summer camp
Alvord High School will be hosting two basketball camps for girls this summer. The first week of instruction will be Monday through Friday, June 8-12. Girls in fourth through sixth grades will be in the gym from 8 to 11 a.m., while those going into seventh through ninth grades are scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Girls going into kindergarten through third grade will attend June 29-July 3 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the elementary school. The cost is $25 and registration forms are available at all schools. Girls are encouraged to sign up by June 1 for the first camp and June 22 for the second camp so T-shirts can be ordered. Chico volleyball camp set in two weeks
The annual Chico Lady Dragon Volleyball Camp is Monday through Thursday, June 8-11, at the high school. Coach Brent Hand and his staff have opened the camp to all girls entering third through ninth grades. To sign up, call Coach Hand at (940) 644-5783 or send an e-mail to bhand@chicodragons.org.

Wise County men's basketball league
A Wise County men's basketball league is tipping off for the first time next month at Alvord High School. The league will be open to the first 10 teams to sign up. All others will be placed on a waiting list. The cost is $475 per team, which includes officiating, jerseys and awards for the champion. League play will be Wednesday nights June 10 though July 22 with games starting at 5 p.m. There will be a season-ending single elimination tournament July 25. Memorial golf tournament tees off in June
The second annual Bryan Ledet Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is Saturday, June 27, at The Club at Runaway Bay. The event will get under way with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. There will be prizes for longest drive, closest to the pin, first-place, 10th-place and 20th-place teams. In addition, the first hole-in-one will win a 2009 GMC Single Cab. Bridgeport football season tickets
Current season ticket holders for the Bridgeport football season can purchase their 2009 tickets through May 29. Reserved ticket prices will be $8 per seat, per game, and the season ticket package will remain at $40. There will be five home varsity games this fall. School employees and senior citizens can still receive free general admission passes. If a current season ticket holder wishes to change seats, they must have their name placed on the waiting list and then wait until their name comes up to purchase those seats. Unclaimed season tickets will go on sale Monday, June 1, to those currently on the waiting list. Preference will be given to those who have been on the waiting list the longest. Tickets will remain on sale until all tickets have been sold. Individuals on the waiting list will be called to come to the high school to purchase tickets.
