Admission will be charged at the Decatur/Springtown scrimmage at Porcupine Stadium. The cost, $2 for adults and 1$ for students, is being implemented by Texas High School Coaches Association to raise money for its "injured player fund." The scrimmage will begin with freshmen at 5 p.m., followed by the junior varsity at 6 p.m. and the varsity at 7:15 p.m.

High school football interviews online
In anticipation of the Aug. 28 release of the 2009 football preview section and fall sports guide, the Wise County Messenger will post a special online video package Wednesday, Aug 19, through Wednesday, Aug. 26. Each weekday, the video from one football team will be added to www.wcmessenger.com. The video will include interviews with players and practice footage.

DMS athletic parent meeting
Orientation for all Decatur Middle School female athletes and their parents is Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Multipurpose Building. The eighth grade meeting is at 5:30 p.m., followed by the seventh grade at 7 p.m.
All athletes enrolled in athletics should attend. Workout clothes and lockers will be issued to all those who have completed physicals and paperwork.
