| Paradise graduate James Hodges finished 38th at the Big XII cross country championships Oct. 31 in Columbia, Mo. |
Hodges, a sophomore at Texas A&M, ran 26:01 on the 8K course. Oklahoma State's Ryan Vail won the event, running 24:50.
The Texas A&M team finished sixth, scoring 171 points. Oklahoma State won the meet with 24 points.
Torres runs in Sun Belt Championships
Decatur alum Jessica Torres took 56th at the Sun Belt Conference Championships Oct. 31 in Monroe, La.
Torres finished the 6K course in 23:35. She helped the Mean Green team to a third-place finish at the meet.
Decatur rodeo contestants win second
Two members of the Decatur rodeo team brought home second-place finishes at the Northwest Rodeo Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
Parker Slate took second in team roping as the header. Dusty Humphrey was runner-up in chute dogging.
Shelby Argo took fifth in barrel racing and pole bending. Jordan Lane finished ninth in pole bending.
